Kinetic Typography

Kinetic typography is an animation technique that uses moving text in order to draw attention, entertain and set a tone. As part of my constant creative exercise, I decided to create a kinetic video weekly. I set the goal to create 1 animated video with this technique using the least amount of words possible.

Not only was finding time for this hard, but also was choosing the right words and tone for each exercise. The risk was that it may turn repetitive and boring. Therefore, I decided the videos would have to complement a story or phrase that would be inspirational for those watching them.

From Samuel Beckett to Radiohead and closing with Maya Angelou, after 2 years of this constant creative exercise, I finished the project with words that complement these great thinkers and leaders’ wise messages. Designing the movements in relation with the messages I was trying to communicate was, no doubt, a rather interesting project.
